Remember to Vote NO on Prop 8

Virtually every major newspaper in California is against Prop 8. The L.A. Times says it is "a drastic step to strip people of rights." La Opinión called Prop 8 "an unnecessary initiative". The San Diego Union Tribune wrote that Prop 8 "offends many Californians' sense of fairness."

Watch this quick 30 second video to find out why voting NO on Prop. 8 is so important.

QUEER MARRIAGES AT DISNEYLAND?

Yes, you heard it right. Disneyland is opening its gates for queer couples to get married.  For anywhere from $8k to $50k queer couples from all over the globe can come to California and get married in any of Disney’s locations. Wedding ceremonies at Disneyland in California, Walt Disney World Resort in Florida Orlando and on Disney's vacation cruise ships will commence as soon as the cities start issuing licenses.

In fact weddings have been going on since 1991 when queer couples would come together on the first week in June for “Disney’s Gay Days at Walt Disney World.” Where it is estimated that over 135,000 queer couples have gone to the Orlando Disney to take the vows without a license.

Violence against Queer Marriage?
Who could be against marriage? There have actually been several incidences of anti-marriage violence directed against couples.  Southern Baptists have been one of the anti-marriage groups that have been opposing these unions for 8 years by calling for a boycott of the entire Walt Disney Company. But since 2005 they have clearly become more tolerant. Though the Southern Baptists are not yet letting Queer couples get married in their churches, they have at least toned-down their anti-marriage rhetoric by ending the boycott against the Disney Company.
