2022 Grammys Match Less Than Last Year, 8.9M Tuned on CBS and Paramount + – Deadline

The 64th Annual Grammy Awards brings together the most important talents of music biz, including BTS, Doza Cat and Questlav, for a star-studded live and private event in Las Vegas on Sunday. However, unlike other awards ceremonies that have seen a rating rebound this year, the Grammys matched the all-time low of 2021.

In terms of fast affiliates, the live broadcast on CBS on Sunday and the live-stream on Paramount + provided 8.93 million viewers, almost the same as last year’s 8.8 million. The 2021 show has repeatedly marked the lowest number of Grammys. Just for comparison, the 2020 show gained 18.7 million viewers in the final issue whereas the pre-epidemic 2019 version racked up 19.9 million iBalls.

Among those who took their own Grammys on Sunday were John Batist, Silk Sonic, Olivia Rodrigo, Chris Stapleton and Doza Cat. Batiste was the main winner of the evening, taking home a total of five trophies. See the full list of winners here.

Of course, without performances by top talent it wouldn’t be “the biggest night of music”. Among the artists on stage were Justin Bieber, BTS, Lil Nass X and Lady Gaga at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Trevor Noah was the host.

By comparison, the Oscar Broadcast, the Critics’ Choice Awards, and the SAG Awards have not yet returned to pre-epidemic levels, but have all surpassed their 2021 rating.

When it comes to non-Grammy ratings, Sunday seemed pretty normal. The evening of ABC was stable with new episodes Funny Home Video of America (0. 5, 4.71M) and American Idol (0.6, 4.70M). The fox saw Bob’s Burger (0. 2, 0.66M) and Family members (0.2, 0.76M) Slip on demo from previous week. Riverdale CW has dropped to 0.0 demo rating. For NBC, The weakest link (0.2, 1.30M) and Transplant (0.1, 1.10M) was fixed.
