CW continues to expand its scripted acquisition slate by adding Canadian drama series Family law, One hour legal drama from Entertainment One. A premiere date is TBD.
Produced, written and executive produced by Susin Nielsen, Family law, Star Jewel State (Firefly) And Amy and Tony nominated Victor Garber (DC’s) Legends of the futureWith Zach Smadu (Basic) And Janelle Williams (Expansion).
The drama series follows the lawyer and the alcoholic Abigail Bianchi (State) struggles to get her career and family back together after hitting the rock. As a condition of her trial, Abby was forced to work at her estranged father Harry’s (Garber) firm, Svensson and Associates, and to practice family law for the first time while forging a new relationship with her half-brother Daniel (Smadu) and half. -Sister Lucy (Williams) whom he has never met. The result is a dysfunctional family law firm that works to help other families with their own unemployment.
Family law Produced by Seven24 Films and Lark Productions for Chorus Entertainments Global (Canada). The series is executive produced by Seven 24’s Jordi Randall (Heartland) And Tom Cox (Lucky boy), And Erin Haskett of Lark (Purpose) And Andy Mikita (Stargate SG-1) Also works as an executive producer. eOne holds international distribution rights. Family law CW’s acquisition expands the slate, which includes upcoming dramas Leonardo A half-hour comedy-drama starring Aidan Turner, Matilda de Angelis and Freddie Haimor Suddenly Starring Nathalie Morris, and the International Action Series Professionals Starring Tom Welling, Brendon Fraser and Elena Anaya. Current series included Coroner, Wellington Paranormal And Satan, All of which will return for the new season later this year.
