Media giant CJ ENM is launching CJ ENM Studios, a new venture that will specialize in content production for OTT platforms in Korea and worldwide. Young Su Ha, former EVP, CEO of CJNM’s business development and investment team, has been appointed.
CJ ENM Studios will join Korean Entertainment Group’s existing production Powerhouse Studio Dragon and recently acquired Endeavor content. It is designed to cover a wide spectrum of different genres and plans to expand its presence by hiring star talents / creators and acquiring top tier manufacturing companies.
CJ said today that the new apparel, “will serve as another basecamp for content production. The strategic move to launch CJ ENM Studio comes at a time when there is a high global demand for K-Content and the multi-studio structure will serve as one of CJ ENM’s core global competition. “
The three studio companies under CJ ENM are part of a plan to strengthen global content production and multi-studio infrastructure. Studio Dragon is behind such global hits Crash Landing On You, Hometown Tea Tea Tea And Sweet home And plans to increase its scripted content production volume. Endeavor Content, which CJ ENM recently acquired under the $ 785M contract, will create content and CJ ENM will use its global network to deliver content.
Ha joined CJ ENM in 2018, overseeing business strategy and M&A. Prior to joining CJ ENM as Head of Management Support Division (CFO), he was also Head of Corporate Business Strategy at CJ Group, first joining the company in 2009.
