Will Smith slams Chris Rock at the Oscars on Sunday after the mini-driver called for a lack of academy on social media.
Writing on Twitter, the driver said he and other academy members had received a notice that the agency was investigating the incident further.
Yesterday, the awards agency released a statement detailing the next steps, apologizing to Rock and claiming that Smith was asked to leave the show but refused.
Critics of the note for holding the driver said, “There is no explanation for why no one came forward to help Chris Rock later; Why he was abandoned by the producers and The Academy and was expected to continue. “
Rock apparently shuddered after the incident but was overwhelmed with his hosting responsibilities. Last night, he received a standing ovation on his first live comedy show after the show, telling audience members that he was “still processing what happened.”
Here is the driver’s tweet:
Received a letter from @ Campus Addressing members today about Sunday’s events and how they are moving forward. There is no explanation as to why no one came forward to help Chris Rock later; Why he was abandoned by the producer and The Academy and was expected to continue.
