Netflix is partnering with sports event organizer ASO in a documentary series about the 2022 Tour de France cycling race. With the participation of France Television and produced by Quadbox, the series will follow the journey of eight teams participating in the most challenging bike races in the world.
The eight-episode documentary will focus on all the actors on the Tour de France, from cyclists to team managers, in an effort to understand the multiple turns of a race that has become a true international symbol broadcast in 190 regions. The first semester of 2023 will be filmed for release on Netflix from March to July 2022. Also, France Television will broadcast an hour-long documentary just days before the Tour de France 2023 begins.
The 2,068-mile tour begins in Denmark on 1 July where teams fight for the yellow jersey through difficult hills and mountain ranges before crossing the finish line in Paris on 24 July.
