‘Sonic the Hedgehog 2’ is off and on to an early foreign start – Deadline

Based on the favorite video game franchise from Sega, the sequel has now settled Sonic in the Green Hills and is eager to prove what it takes to be a true hero. His test comes when Dr. Robotnik returns with a new partner, Knox, in search of an emerald that has the potential to destroy civilization. Sonic teamed up with his own sidekick, Tales, and together they embarked on a world-travel journey to find the emerald before it fell into the wrong hands.

The returning cast includes James Marsden, Ben Schwartz and Jim Carrey. Also back are Tika Sampter, Natasha Rothwell, Adam Pally and Lee Mazdub. New additions include Shemer Moore, Idris Elba as Knox, and Colin O’Shaughnessy as Tales.

The screenplay is by original authors Pat Casey, Josh Miller and John Whittington. The producer is Neil H. Moritz, Toby Asher, Toru Nakahara and Hitoshi Okuno.
