Sony has hired Veteran Carsten Guhan for the A + E original EMEA sales role – Deadline

Sony Pictures Television exec Kerstin Gühne has been appointed Vice President of A + E Networks Global Content Sales EMEA.

It will oversee the distribution of A + E content across German-speaking Europe, the CIS region, Russia and Turkey.

His appointment follows a 15-year spell at Sony, where he was promoted to managing director of sales and distribution and senior vice president.

At A + E, Guhan will report to A + E Network’s Global Content Sales Patrick Vienne’s Group Managing Director.

Guhan began his career in the publishing department of Bertelsmann, Fremantle’s father, before joining RTL Group as head of program acquisition for the children’s channel Super RTL.

He was a major buyer on Switzerland’s TV3 between 1999 and 2001 before moving to Sony, the children’s company DIC Entertainment (now part of WildBrain) and then to Sony in 2005.

“Carsten is a highly skilled international content distribution executive who has decades of experience working with both traditional and emerging content platforms in her new role,” Vienne said. “Its vast knowledge of the changing global marketplace will play an important role as A + E networks continue to expand its footprint across the region.”
