Taraji p. Henson and Chris Paul Biden have been appointed to the HBCU Advisory Board

The White House has announced that #Tarazifenson and #Crispol are among nine men and nine women #PresidentBiden has historically been appointed to the Presidential Advisory Board of Black Colleges and Universities.

The board has been tasked with advancing the goal of the #HBCU Initiative, which was re-established last year. According to the White House, their goal is to “enhance the capacity of HBCU to provide its students with the highest quality education and to continue to serve as the engine of opportunity.”

Taraji studied acting at the famous Howard University and in 2018 started the Boris Lawrence Henson Foundation. A foundation created in honor of his late father, which provides scholarships to major African-American students in mental health, provides mental health services to urban youth. Schools, and work to reduce the reunion rate of African-American men and women

While Chris has actively worked for NC A&T, Southern University, Winston Salem State and Clark Atlanta University to expand Business of Entertainment Media and Sports specialty courses!

Further support for HBCUs has been part of Biden’s domestic policy agenda since the presidential campaign. The White House shared that the administration has pledged $ 5.8 billion in assistance to these HBCUs through a combination of epidemic relief funds, grants and capital development debt forgiveness. Last year, however, he proposed increased funding for HBCUs but his full proposal was not passed by Congress.
