Following the basis of the potential spinoff The Rookie, Where Nathan Filion played John Nolan, LAPD’s oldest rookie. As previously announced, Niecy Nash will play the guest character Simon Clark, the power of nature, the living embodiment of a dream – and the oldest rookie at the FBI Academy. His two episodes set the stage for a potential untitled spinoff the following season as the franchise expanded beyond the Los Angeles Police Department.
2022 ABC Pilot and Series Order
Co-written The Rookie Directed by creator / executive producer Alexei Howley and executive producer Terrence Paul Winter, and Liz Friedlander, Part 1 of the two-part event titled “Simon” enlisted the help of Officer John Nolan (Filion) and the FBI’s LA Division. FBI trainee Simon Clark (Nash) is one of his former students suspected of terrorism after an explosion at a local power station.
The two-episode arc features Frankie Fison as Christopher “Cute” Clark, Cat Foster as Special Agent Casey Fox, and Felix Solis as Special Agent Matthew Garza.
