Tonya Lewis Lee and Paula Iselt talk about their new documentary ‘Aftershock’ –

The Podcast of Scene 2 took a break – but we’re back! And this week, there’s a very special discussion feature surrounding a pressing topic. The Aftershock The documentary premiered at Sundance 2022, where it won the Impact for Change Award, and then reached SXSW 2022.

Although I spoke to Iselt and Lee on the main stage of SXSW on March 13, I would be sorry if I did not share this conversation with all of you because there is a lot to learn from talking to the directors. I must say that this film is a primer on maternal health that should be seen in every medical school and birth center in America. Maternal mortality is a medical and public health crisis that is not being addressed quickly enough. The film chronicles the tragic deaths of Shamni Gibson and Amber Rose Isaacs দুই two black women who died in hospital due to medical negligence. With the help of these cases, managers analyze why something so preventable is still killing women and trying to get to the root of the problem.
